Who is the YoGi chef service designed for?
YoGi chef is a gourmet personal chef service designed for athletes, people on special diets, people with food allergies or health problems, recuperating patients, seniors, busy executives, and new moms. It’s perfect for anyone who wants help with cooking, as well as upscale cuisine, a healthy lifestyle, and more time and energy!
Do you prepare food for people with medical problems?
Yes, we specialize in cooking for people with restricted diets due to medical issues. We prepare gourmet food for people with diabetes, heart problems, allergies, and recovering from surgery. We work with recommendations from your doctor, nutritionist, or dietician as needed.
Can you prepare meals for special diets?
Absolutely! YoGi chef uses information from doctors, nutritionists, dieticians, and personal trainers to design menus that match individual food goals or dietary restrictions. Dishes and menus can also be customized for popular diets. Several clients have requested menus based on the Atkins™, South Beach™, and Weight Watchers™ diets.
Can I afford it?
Absolutely! Compared with the time and money you would spend on planning, shopping, cooking, and clean up, YoGi chef is very affordable. Plus, YoGi chef service gives you extra time and energy to devote to other worthwhile pursuits. The cost per meal is comparable to a nice restaurant. However, unlike restaurant dining, YoGi chef provides delicious meals customized to your unique dietary needs. You eat in the comfort of your own home, at your convenience, with no preparation or clean-up chores.
Can you accommodate different preferences within our family?
Yes, we work with you during the initial consultation to review each family member’s dietary needs, tastes, and preferences, and we adjust the menu accordingly.
How often do you come?
Clients use the YoGi chef service on a variety of schedules—every week, every two weeks, monthly, or as needed. You can decide to eat your YoGi chef-prepared meals every day, or you can use them to supplement your own cooking. During your complimentary consultation, we work with you to develop a customized schedule to meet your needs.
Can you deliver prepared food?
Health Department regulations require that delivered food be prepared in a specially equipped and inspected kitchen, such as a catering service or restaurant. We need to come to your home and prepare your meals in your kitchen.
What if my kitchen is not well equipped?
Not to worry! We need only a stove, an oven, and a microwave. We bring all the pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment and remove everything at the end of the cooking session.
How long will you be in my home?
We are generally in a client’s home for five to seven hours, depending on the menu and type of service. Cooking takes several hours, and additional time is needed to unload, unpack, pack, load, and clean the kitchen. We discuss the schedule at your initial consultation and determine a mutually agreeable time.
Will I need to be home while you cook?
Absolutely not! Most clients are busy and pressed for time. We discuss and agree on entry arrangements during the initial consultation.
Do you have a children’s menu?
Yes, we can discuss kid-friendly menu options with you during the initial consultation.
How do I store the meals?
The YoGi chef packaging method is space-efficient and maximizes the number of meals that can be stored. Meals can be packaged for a family, for two people, or for one. They are stored in either reusable or disposable containers. Same-size containers require less storage space in the freezer. We bring the appropriate size containers for each entrée.
How do I heat my meals?
Most dishes can be heated in the microwave, although some should be heated in the oven. Easy-to-follow heating instructions are supplied for each entrée and side dish. Some entrées can go directly from the freezer to the microwave. However, we recommend that entrées be defrosted overnight in the refrigerator for superior flavor and texture.
Do I pay you in advance for each cooking session?
Yes, please pay before your first cooking session. When YoGi chef is cooking in your home, you may leave a check for the next scheduled session.
